Broadband speed check - running a test is always a good idea on your internet connection

An internet speed test shows the your connection speed to the internet. Internet connection speed refers to the data transfer rate from the Internet to your computer. Basically that means the amount of time it takes your computer to download a given amount of data. The Mcafee speed test allows you to measure this speed so that you can know how fast your connection is as well as knowing how fast you will be able to download things.

The Mcafee test performs two tests. Mcafee looks for how fast you download a 150 KB file. If the speed test determines that first test is completed, you are redirected to another Web page with either 600KB, 1.5MB or 3.0MB of data. The time it took for your computer to download that Web page is then recorded by the Mcafee test.

Know Your Connection Speed

The speed test from Mcafee allows you to know if it is your internet connection that is being slow or your computer. Using an interent speed test is a very valuable tool in determining whether it is time to upgrade your computers or maybe even go with a better ISP. The speed test will give different results after each test based on network and internet conditions. I would suggest running the Mcafee test 3-4 times and at different times of the day if you plan to use the data from the test to determine if you need an upgrade.

I suggest doing a check of your internet speed and see how fast you are moving online. The speed test from McAfee can be a very valuable tool if used correctly.
