Cheap DSL – Make Sure You Know The Cost

Are you ready to move to DSL internet speed for your online connection? The first struggle occurs when realization of installation costs becomes an issue, as well as speeds, reliability and the sheer reputation of the DSL provider you are considering joining. For the standard dialup user, attempting to find cheap DSL is a constant battle.

Installation costs is a downside for obtaining low cost DSL, because of the fact the providers that are willing to only charge you $10 to possibly $20 dollars a month will not foot the bill. The bill includes the modem, the software required and other necessary measures for DSL installation. This bill can come up to well over $200 dollars once everything is said and done.

Speed an Issue with Cheap or “low cost” DSL

DSL speed is also an issue with low priced DSL. Most cheap providers only offer small amounts over the standard dialup rate, which may seem alluring at first to the unsuspecting consumer. You will also have to take in consideration how much this provider will cost you for bandwidth, as it is certain you will not be allowed more than a gig or two upload and download bandwidth.

The third consideration you should make when considering a cheap provider for DSL service is the company’s reliability and reputation. Has this company ever been accused of ripping off their customers?

Is their marketing “schemes” in the fine print? Do you have to give them all of your details just to obtain the service? And even worse, will they sell your email address to spammers? These are all serious issues that should be answered before you make a final decision.

Overall, while cheap broadband DSL may seem like a pretty package for those with strict budgets, purchasing reliable DSL from a serious business that does not use any scams should be a consideration. Is it worth saving ten bucks a month for cheap broadband DSL access, when for that extra ten dollars, you can more reliably unlock the internet, without the heavy installation fees and hassle?
