Broadband connection speed makes a huge difference to the way people access the Internet and enjoy their online experience. For broadband users, images and data on the Internet are not just things to be viewed passively, but things they can download, recombine, manipulate and share with others.

As much as 39% of broadband users have at one time or another created content for the Internet by doing such things as:
- Creating web sites
- Posting their thoughts or other information

Broadband speed has enabled 43% users to share files with others and also display or develop photos online.
Broadband connections also mean that they are "always on, at a speed that is a pleasure to work with. Now home users can turn on the PC to grab all their information needs. As much as 68% of home broadband Internet users say they do more information searches online because of their high-speed connection. When asked what they have done online mostly since getting a home broadband connection, 32% say, "looking for information". Emailing comes a close second with 28%. 61% users also say that they have spent more time online because of their efficient broadband connection speed.
Is a broadband internet connection speed available in your area
If a broadband internet connection were available in your area, would you get it? This was another recent survey recently undertaken. Not surprisingly, 80% of respondents said "Yes". When asked what stopped people from going broadband, 77% said it was the price. Yes, price remains the biggest barrier for broadband. Why did you decide to get broadband? When this was asked, 94% said because of faster access to the web. 75% said because of file access or file sharing. Broadband connections are making a big difference.
In fact, those who experience broadband speeds are much more likely than dial-up users to be online during a typical day. Here are some more study results.
- Broadband Internet surfers spend more time online than dial-up users (95 minutes on average for high-speed users during any given day, compared to 83 minutes for dial-up). Obviously, broadband connections makes this difference.
- Broadband users do more things online. Multi tasking is possible by simultaneously doing more than one activity in a single session. 43% of those who benefit due to broadband connection speed have multiple online sessions per day versus 19% of dial-up users.
